Aston Villa Omit Taylor Harwood-Bellis from Champions League League Stage Squad
Aston Villa have left new signing Taylor Harwood-Bellis and teenage forward Brian Madjo out of their Champions League league stage squad.

Aston Villa have made key selection decisions ahead of their continental campaign, omitting recent signing Taylor Harwood-Bellis from their squad for the league stage of the UEFA Champions League.
According to a report by BBC Sport, the centre-back has not been included in the registered group submitted for the opening phase of the competition. Teenage striker Brian Madjo has also been left out of the squad.
UEFA regulations enforce strict squad limits for European competitions, requiring managers to balance overall roster size alongside specific homegrown and association-trained quotas on List A. With competitive depth across multiple positions, clubs frequently face difficult selection calls when registering senior players for continental competition.
Harwood-Bellis, who recently completed a switch to Villa Park, will now have to wait for any potential European involvement later in the tournament should Villa progress to the knockout rounds, where squad lists can be amended.
While Harwood-Bellis and Madjo will not feature during the league phase fixtures on the continent, both players remain eligible and available for domestic fixtures across the Premier League and domestic cup competitions.
Villa's technical staff have had to weigh defensive options carefully across a demanding schedule, prioritising balance within the squad submitted to UEFA for the initial phase of the expanded tournament format.
